Free Music every Sunday in Ward Park

We’re delighted to announce a summer of free live music from the beautiful old Victorian bandstand in Ward Park – so pack a picnic, grab a blanket and join us each Sunday afternoon from 3 – 5pm throughout July & August.

The line-up this year showcases a diverse range of genres including indie, jazz, blues, ska, folk, 1950s rock ‘n’ roll, punk and bluegrass.

If arriving in Bangor by bus or train, it’s just a quick walk to Ward Park – see the route below.

Train

One of the loveliest train journeys in Northern Ireland is the Belfast to Bangor coastal route. The journey can take up to 40 minutes from Great Victoria Street Station and as little as 23 minutes from Belfast Lanyon Place, depending on the number of stops.

Trains run every hour on Sundays departing Bangor back towards Belfast at 25 past each hour.

Bus

Buses run regularly from Bangor Bus Station in the centre of town to the two main Belfast city centre stations – Laganside Buscentre and Europa Buscentre on Great Victoria Street.

Do I Need A Ticket?

This is a free event so you do not require a ticket for entry.

Parking

There is limited parking on Park Drive. However there are a number of free car parks all within a 10 minute walk including Queen’s Parade car park, Marina car park & ASDA car park.

Accessibility

As an independent Festival, we pride ourselves on having as many venues as possible fully accessible. Ward Park is included in this list.

Can I bring food/drink to the event?

You are welcome to bring a picnic and your own refreshments to Ward Park – but please use litter bins provided or bring your rubbish home with you, and be respectful of the beautiful surroundings and other members of the public at the event.

Are there age restrictions?

No, all ages from young to old are very welcome.

What time can I arrive from?

As this is a public park, you are welcome to arrive at any time. All Sundays start at 3pm (except July 4th which starts at 4pm). We advise coming roughly 30mins in advance if you’d like a spot close to the front.

Can I bring a dog?

Yes, dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a leash.
