Polar Bolero

Since forming as part of a university project at Magee College in 2022, Polar Bolero have quietly become a band to watch on the Irish music scene. With roots in Derry, they recently won the first ever Gerry Anderson Bursary Award at the NI Music Prize in 2025. Their influences and genre-defying live performances mark them out as something a little bit special. Mixing pop precision, folk storytelling, jazz flair and a theatrical sweep, Polar Bolero have a sound that is completely their own.
